Care for the youngest skin, with as little as possible in it and as little packaging as possible around it. That is what Naïf is known for: mild formulas with natural ingredients such as cottonseed oil, in pump bottles you refill rather than throw away. At Kideo.store you'll find the whole baby and children's line — from wash gel and wipes to sun protection and aftersun. Order before 4 pm on a working day and your order ships the same day.
Washing and bath time
- Cleansing wash gel 500 ml — cleans gently without drying the skin, with cottonseed oil and natural oils that protect the outer skin layer. Also sold as a refill pouch.
- Mild baby shampoo 500 ml — with a refill as well, and a small 200 ml bottle for travelling.
- 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner — washing and detangling in one, which makes the bath routine a step shorter.
- Bath foam and bath oil — for anyone who wants to soften the bath a little.
How refilling works
The 500 ml pump bottles are topped up with a refill pouch. According to Naïf that saves 76% plastic: the pump is reused, and no new bottle has to be made — only a pouch. The practical upshot for you: the refill costs less than the bottle, so it works out cheaper per use as well.
Note that this applies to the 500 ml bottles. The smaller tubes and bottles are not refillable.
Changing
- Plastic-free wipes — as a single pack of 54 or a value pack of eight. They are 99% water, alcohol-free and fragrance-free, and made without plastic fibres, so they are biodegradable.
- Fragrance-free nappy cream and the fragrance-free Baby Balm — for when skin is sensitive.
Caring
- Soothing body lotion and the nourishing cream.
- Detangling hair lotion — for the mornings when the comb gets stuck. Spray, comb through, done.
- Baby massage oil — for the moment after the bath.
Sun: mind the difference
Naïf has two kinds of sun protection, and the difference is worth knowing before you choose.
The SPF50 sun spray for babies and children uses a mineral filter based on zinc oxide (non-nano). A filter like that protects immediately — no waiting time to sink in, which matters with a child who wants to get in the water. Naïf states it is suitable even for the most sensitive children's skin.
The SPF30 sun lotion works differently: it contains a chemical-based filter. A fine product, but if you are deliberately choosing mineral, take the SPF50 spray.
After a day outdoors there is the cooling aftersun gel.
To be straight about mineral filters: they can leave a slight white cast on the skin, particularly on darker skin tones. It fades, but it is good to know before trying it for the first time on a bright day.
What we think of it
At our own nurseries we change and wash dozens of children a day, so we know what a care product has to do: mild enough for sensitive skin, practical to use, and not empty straight away. What we like about Naïf is the refill system — a pump bottle you top up rather than throw out is not only more sustainable but cheaper per use. And the fact that the nappy cream and the Baby Balm come in a fragrance-free version genuinely helps with children who have eczema.
Frequently asked questions about Naïf
From what age can I use Naïf?
The baby and children's line is intended from birth. Check the product page for the exact guidance, and on sensitive skin always test a small patch first.
Which products are refillable?
The 500 ml pump bottles — wash gel and baby shampoo — are topped up with a refill pouch. According to Naïf that saves 76% plastic. The smaller bottles and tubes are not refillable.
Which sun protection has a mineral filter?
The SPF50 spray for babies and children, based on zinc oxide (non-nano). The SPF30 lotion uses a chemical filter. When in doubt, check the ingredient list on the product page.
Is the sun protection suitable for babies?
For babies under six months the general advice is to avoid direct sun and to work with clothing and shade rather than sunscreen. When in doubt, check with your child health clinic or doctor — that is the source to go by.
Which products are fragrance-free?
The wipes, the fragrance-free nappy cream and the fragrance-free Baby Balm. Most other products contain a mild fragrance; that is listed in the ingredients on each product page. With eczema or sensitive skin, that list is worth reading.
Are the wipes really plastic-free?
They are made without plastic fibres and are therefore biodegradable. They belong in general waste, not down the toilet.
