Holztiger: wooden animals for invented stories
Holztiger makes recognisable animals with simple, sturdy shapes. A sheep, cat or elephant can stand alone or become part of a landscape. Children can gather animals around a stable, sort them by habitat or invent a story. The figures have no fixed rules of play.
Shaped and painted by hand
The figures are handmade in Europe from maple and beech and painted with water-based colours. Wood grain and handwork can create slight differences. Rounded shapes and thickness distinguish them from flat pictures or soft toys.
Animals and their surroundings
- Farm and domestic animals. The black sheep and cat can become part of a farmyard or home scene.
- Other habitats. Forest animals, wild animals, sea creatures and dinosaurs include adult animals and smaller figures.
- Scenery and people. Trees, a bush, stable and human figures provide settings for animal play.
Dimensions and care
Compare each figure's height and width; small and large versions differ. Wipe wood with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry. Prolonged soaking is unsuitable for these wooden figures. Check the age guidance for each animal.
